the participant will be familiar with various cannulation strategies for veno-venous ECMO
the participant will be aware of ethical issues associated with the use of ECMO in palliative procedures.

Objectives
Brief description of lecture: Following an overview of the basics of veno-venous ECMO, including indications/contraindications and anatomy/physiology, I will describe a series of cases in which ECMO has been used to facilitate challenging procedures. I will briefly touch on the fraught ethical issues associated with the use of ECMO in palliative procedures.
