Objectives

1. Explain the historical evolution of treatment for serious mental illness (SMI) in the United States, including the major reform movements and their impact on patient care.

2. Analyze the similarities and differences between Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) and Coordinated Specialty Care (CSC), with attention to eligibility criteria, service components, and clinical outcomes.

3. Evaluate the application of CSC principles beyond first-episode psychosis by examining the structure, outcomes, and sustainability of the Enhanced Treatment and Recovery (EnTRy) program.
