Description

TICs are a major source of cancer heterogeneity.

TICs exist along a continuum of various subpopulations, each with their own characteristics and markers.

Mitochondrial morphology differs between these subpopulations, therefore we hypothesize that altering morphology may impact these subpopulations and shift cells to a less aggressive state.

Mitochondrial dynamics offer a unique therapeutic target for breast TICs.
