Objectives
1. Identify key clinical features and neuroanatomic localization associated with acute right-sided weakness and construct a focused differential diagnosis emphasizing common ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke syndromes in elderly patients.
2. Interpret initial neuroimaging studies (non-contrast CT, CTA, and MRI when available) to recognize acute stroke findings and understand how imaging guides eligibility for thrombolysis, thrombectomy, and neurosurgical consultation.
3. Outline the basic principles of acute stroke management and secondary prevention, including blood pressure management, anti-thrombotic therapy, risk factor modification, and the roles of the interprofessional stroke team in patient care.
