Description
The purpose of this lecture is to expand the learners’ understanding of the key elements upon which to assess high-risk obstetric patients’ candidacy for neuraxial procedures. We will discuss guiding principles and examples of comorbidity-specific algorithms that help to drive the decision-making process. These discussions will be set in the context of historical and contemporary data on general versus neuraxial anesthesia for obstetric patients.
