August 23rd, 2023 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit Hours
Description
Private equity continues to have an influence in the healthcare system including anesthesia. More seasoned physicians may choose to sell practices due to high buyout sums and less managerial duties. By consolidating and destabilizing the regional market, private equity is able to create a monopoly of services for a region. Incentivizing profits through increasing unit price, amount paid, and reducing waste leads to a large burden on insured patients.
